HEAVENLY TRAVELIN' SHOES

As many of us know, the most commonly associated meaning of shoes in the Bible...God's Holy Word, has to do with the removal of shoes when one enters most hallowed and holy ground as in Exodus 3:5, when the LORD called to Moses and said out of the midst of the burning bush, 5 And he said, Draw not nigh hither: put off thy shoes from off thy feet, for the place whereon thou standest is holy ground. Also, the Bible tells us to put on shoes in "one's preparation and readiness for a task" as the scripture says in Exodus 12:11, when the LORD spoke unto Moses and Aaron "And thus shall ye eat it; with your loins girded, your shoes on your feet, and your staff in your hand; and ye shall eat it in haste: it is the LORD'S Passover." Likewise another scripture speaks of shoes in "one's preparation for a task" Ephesians 6:14, 15 says, "Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness; And your feet shot (equipped, furnished) with the preparation of the gospel of peace;" Verses 16-18 continues as we are instructed to put on the whole armour of God, that "ye may be able to withstand in the evil day." 16 Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked. 17 And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the sirit, which is the word of God. 18 Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints." One other important scripture is Mark 6:9, where Jesus calls the twelve disciples and began to send them out (for a task) two by two for their journey (readiness given by the gospel of peace) saying, "But be shod (equipped, furnished) with sandals; and not put on two coats." Put on your Heavenly Travelin' Shoes is a song written by my brother Nate Hollis and my Mom, Mattie V. Hollis. One verse says, "Just when you think all your hope is gone...travel on, travel on...load gets heavy and so burdensome...travel on, travel on...look up children and just be strong...travel on, travel on...pressing for the prize and it won't be long...travel on, travel on...just keep on moving, you got to keep on moving...travel on, travel on...don't stop!!! In JESUS NAME! I pray for Peace and blessings!
