Facebook Response - Christians Attending Grammy Awards

Recently I came across a Facebook video that a gentleman posted with Pastor Deitrich Haddon talking about Christians attending or not attending the Grammy Awards shows. He stated that if Christians are not spiritually strong enough to handle the Grammy Awards performances, then he/she should not attend or if attending then he/she should leave. He continued to explain that he wouldn't have to leave and how he would check with those who were in attendance with him by asking, "Can you handle this? Are you good?" If not then, leave. He later compared Christians attending the Grammy's and Jesus attending the wedding where He turned water into wine. Many people love to use this scripture and experience to justify their selfish behavior but will not follow Jesus on anything else. Very interesting to me. God help us all! Well, back to the subject at hand. The video was posted by the gentleman so that he could provide his perspective on the subject. After reading a couple of the responses, the following message and scriptures came to me:

There is but one purpose and many intents/agendas behind a Grammy Awards show! Some hidden and some blatant and overt! It is NOT to honor or glorify GOD!!! Awards shows such as that places people against one another in competition and self promotion. Gospel artists are also placed in competition against each other. A house divided cannot stand, Mark 3:25. Gospel artists should not be in competition with each other. It’s self destructive and comes against the body of Christ where we are supposed to be one in the body of Christ!!!!!! The attempt to compare Christians attendance at the Grammy Awards and Jesus attendance at the wedding is not the same at all and should not be compared. Jesus is the Word made flesh and NOTHING can come against the Word of GOD!!!! The purposes AND intents of a Grammy show and a wedding are very different!!!!! Like comparing apples to oranges!!!!! Our attendance at an event can also show that we are in support of it! That’s why having the Holy Spirit of God In Jesus Christ is VERY IMPORTANT and NECESSARY IF we want to follow Jesus Christ!!!! …Matthew 10:16-18 (KJV) Behold, I send you forth as sheep in the midst of wolves: be ye therefore wise as serpents, and harmless as doves. In Jesus name!!! God help us all!!!! Many people feel they have achieved a milestone by winning a Grammy Award. What does a Grammy Award mean to you?
